The Loon Cafe

Minneapolis  •  St.Paul

The original Loon Cafe was established in 1982 by Mike Andrews and John White. Taking a risk, they transformed an abandoned hat shop and haberdashery in downtown Minneapolis into the cornerstone of the now iconic Warehouse District.

For decades, it’s been a favorite meeting spot before and after sporting events and concerts, and for countless celebrations and happy hours. Located on the corner of 5th Street and 1st Avenue North, one block to Target center, home of the MN Timberwolves and WNMA champion Lynx and two blocks from Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins.

Current partners John Stein and Tim Mahoney keep the original spirit alive, by focusing on consistently great, award-winning food and true down-to-earth hospitality, as these are the qualities the Loon Cafe has been known for.
